SUMMARY:Reconciliation Weekend
DESCRIPTION:The Elders’ Council have planned a weekend in late\nJanuary\, 2023 (Saturday and Sunday) with the aim of\nbringing reconciliation among our worshippers past and\npresent. The past two – three years have seen divisiveness\nand hurt in many churches. MMC has not been exempt from\nthis issue. In order to practice the grace and forgiveness that\nJesus expects of all His followers\, we feel that we should all\ncome together and participate in this healing process. \nHere is what is planned:\n Saturday\, January 28 (6:00pm)\n– a ‘POT LUCK’ DINNER at the church for everyone\n Sunday\, January 29(10:30am)\n– our MORNING SERVICE with a special speaker (video) \nPlease plan to join us in this opportunity to renew\nfriendships and dispel the hurts that have appeared during\nthe last several months. \nThe Elders’ Council at MMC \n

DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, January 19\, 2023 (6:30 PM – 7:30 PM) \nWhile we understand that Prayer is communicating with God\, it is important that we realize that it should be in His will. Sometimes Prayer and Fasting need to go together. We should fast and pray whenever we are truly seeking Him and His will for us and for others. Fasting is keeping ourselves away from our routine activities and food to intercede and seek God’s will. Nehemiah had a time of prayer and fasting when he heard that Jerusalem was in ruins; Paul and Barnabas spent time in prayer and fasting for the appointment of elders in the churches; Jesus fasted for 40 days and 40 nights before He was tempted by Satan. Church\, you are invited to fast and pray with us\, as we envision Markham Missionary Church to be a beacon of God’s miracles. \nIf you are unable to fast\, you are still welcome to join us as we stand united and pray together.

Your guests get in for free! \nGuest Speaker Pastor Harold McLaryea from BrazilBorn in Ghana\, West Africa came to Brazil in March 1984 on a student scholarship program and graduated in Chemical Engineering at the State University of Campinas\, UNICAMP. In Campinas he served in various local churches and ministries. He became a Brazilian citizen and is married to Dr. Dorilene Laryea and they have three children and a daughter-in-law as at now. Harold and Dorilene pastored for 26 years Comunidade Vida\, a local church they started in Guarapuava\, Parana State in southern Brasil. They have since then transitioned from pastoring the local church and moved to Curitiba where they now live and help other churches and ministries in Brasil and in other countries.
